Wannabes

I’ve written before about our obsession with palmetto tree mailboxes here in the neighborhood: mailbox stands, mailbox flags and, of course, the mailboxes themselves.

When something is that popular, you’re going to end up with lots of wannabes, too. So we have mailboxes in the neighborhood that aren’t true palmetto tree mailboxes at all. But they’re close.

This solution is actually very practical.

Don’t want a palmetto tree mailbox anymore? Just pick up your flag and move it. Maybe make a palmetto tree hamburger grill instead.
