Feral Buzzards

I guess all buzzards are feral by definition. But I call this group “the feral buzzards” because they have taken up residence in the neighborhood feral cat colony.

I first saw this phenomenon in a little coastal town in Florida. While I was out for a morning walk, an old lady drove around town, stopping at various parking lots to feed feral cats. As soon as she drove away, the buzzards descended.

Here, the buzzards and cats seemed to have worked out a compromise. I see the buzzards in the morning, and the cats at night.
